About Our People

President Ricky Ortiz

Secretary & Treasurer Karla Rodas

Vice-President Debbie Ortiz

Ricky Ortiz started H.O.P.E. back in 1993 as a little 7 year old boy.  Along with his family, he retrieved donations from numerous sources and started with a giving tree.

7 years later he amassed several thousands of dollars and a treasure trove of donated gifts.  He was able to give Christmas to 57 children.  Once the family moved from the local town, the non profit work discontinued even though volunteering was always done.  In 2017, his interest was once again peaked with a small non profit and he started his work again.  This time as an adult he was able to assist with so much more and found himself as the Director of Operations.  He would volunteer his time and energy until he resigned in May of 2020.

He has now started up H.O.P.E. to assist those who need it.  He wants to make sure the differences made for those who need it are permanent and beneficial.

Debbie, the mother of Ricky and Cordero, started the process early in helping others.  She initiated the giving tree at her salon that inspired Ricky as a young boy.  She has worked in the non profit industry for almost 25 years.  She loves assisting others and seeing their smiles.  She has always believed in helping other people and treating them with the love and respect we all deserve.  She hopes to take this position and amplify her impact on the local community and to assist this organization in growing to serve more.

Cordero Ortiz

Cordero Ortiz has been with H.O.P.E. since inception. As a young child he helped collect, organize, and distribute donations along with other volunteer work within the community as well as at a nursing home. As he grew older he began volunteering within his school going in early and staying late to open the high school media center and help with extracurricular events.   Now as an adult, he has volunteered his time with multiple non profits organizations and events. He organizes and hosts multiple yearly events within the community including whole subdivision block parties, Easter and Christmas events, and summer drive up movie nights. He looks forward to bringing his experiences with event planning and his networking within the community and businesses to help H.O.P.E. succeed in multiple activities to ensure we can provide experiences and aid to as many as we can.   He recently married his beautiful wife and has 2 young children, one of which has already begun donating his time to the community as well. His hobbies include shooting competitively, being the match director for OTG Multigun, and scuba diving.
